Seamless fit
How products fit, function and enrich our lives is unquestionably at the heart of what we consider to be good design. At GRO, we believe products should contribute to and enhance an atmosphere rather than dominating our living spaces.
A recurring theme in our creative approach is the design of solutions which, in terms of aesthetics, are closer to furniture than traditional consumer electronic products. This derives from our long-held belief that as technology matures and design solutions advance, products will fit ever more seamlessly into our daily lives, attending to our needs in the background, rather than taking over our spaces.
Scope for personal expression
The design identity fully utilizes the sound bar, making it the structure from which the ultra-thin OLED screen is suspended and creating a slender ‘mantelpiece’ on which to rest cherished photographs and cards. The resulting design is both neutral and restrained, with added scope for personal expression.
Brandcore
In 2014, LGE commissioned our studio to rethink their future sound and vision design strategy. Technological development always offers designers new opportunities to create innovative solutions. With significant breakthroughs in thin OLED screen and sound technology, LGE provided a strong technological foundation from which we developed two new product designs.
Innovative solutions
The product design enhanced LGE’s transparent speaker technology. Front-firing stereo tweeters are suspended left and right within a crystal-clear base. This tensioned base creates a magical floating effect, supporting an ultra-thin OLED screen mounted in an alloy frame. Crafted detailing delivers an overall design aesthetic that offers a functional yet highly memorable solution.
