MEMORA
The record of our most meaningful memories is becoming increasingly diluted among our ever-expanding digital archives – just a few moments out of thousands that are often scrolled over without really appreciating their significance.
The topic for this internal GRO project came up when we were discussing how many photos and videos each of us had accumulated since the advent of the smartphone.
Given as a gift, the Memora concept is intended to store and display only one very special video clip: the birth of a child, a graduation, a marriage, or a memorial to a lost loved one, making it more impactful and valuable.
Borderless spatial imaging for a truly immersive experience
Inspired by the classic View-Master children’s toy, Memora's stereoscopic lenses and speakers immerse the viewer in the special memory, without the distraction of other content or the world around you.
Designed to be handheld, the interaction is personal, intimate and intuitive. Thanks to proximity sensors next to the lenses, the clip plays automatically when Memora is close to the eyes.
Blending into the living space
When developing this concept, we wanted the object to be as precious as the content it contains – enabling it to live among our most cherished keepsakes and mementos in the home. The iconic arched form seamlessly joins the two lenses together into one simple totemic object, and its polished copper finish suggests a timeless human warmth, rather than a soulless expression of technology.
